Last week saw the return of our Wine Tasting Evenings here at The Tackroom in partnership with Private Cellars and presented by Nicola Arcedeckne-Butler, Master of Wine.


The evening saw our guests sample wines from arguably the most sort after region in the world, paired alongside a French inspired menu carefully curated by our Head Chef.

‘Beef Bourguignon’, beef fillet, roasted shallots, Potato terrine, Bone marrow filled with slow braised short rib, capers, watercress.

The main course of the evening was carefully paired with two red wines from the Bordeaux region, each one cultivated on opposing banks of the river Garonne. the first being ‘Chateau Cap De Haut, Haut Medoc, Bordeaux 2010 from the left bank of the river, the second being Chateau Tour Baladoz, grand Cru St Emilion, Bordeaux 2008 from the right bank of the river. Allowing our guests to decide which one they feel suits them best. The battle of the banks!

paired with ‘Chateux De Mails, Sainte Croix de Mont, Bordeaux 2010’ “a rich, sweet, floral wine with a hint of Orange zest.”


The evening was without a doubt one of discussion and decadence, with fabulous storytelling from our Guest Master of Wine, alongside an impeccable selection of wines and carefully designed dishes.

Our next event will see us travel back to Italy to the region of Tuscany where we will explore the premium vineyard of ‘La Tunella’.
